virtual connect groups

As a church, we have a unique opportunity right now to reach people in their homes. Many people are desiring connection now more than ever. And although we’re separated physically, COVID-19 cannot stop us from connecting with each other and growing spiritually!

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)

Connect Groups are such an essential part of “meeting together” and “spurring one another on!” If you were leading a Connect Group, we encourage you to continue meeting with your group virtually. If you are not part of a Connect Group, we ask that you would prayerfully consider starting a virtual Connect Group. Sign up below!

how to host or start a virtual connect group

STEP ONE

download zoom

We recommend that you use Zoom for your virtual Connect Group. You can download it on your computer, tablet, or smartphone. As the host of the group, you will need to download Zoom from AppStore on your iPhone or iPad; from Google Play on your Android; or from https://zoom.us on your computer. STEP TWO

schedule and invite

Gather a group of people together to begin a virtual Connect Group. Reach out to family, friends, or coworkers and encourage them to invite someone, too! To learn how to schedule a meeting, click here.

When you meet, help get the word out by tagging Evangel and using #letsZOOMtogether when you post. That hashtag is a spin-off of the theme from last fall (#letsgrouptogether) to remind people that the Church is still alive and active!

STEP THREE

monday message recaps

We want to make starting a new group as easy as possible, so we created our Monday Message Recap with two to three questions your group can discuss together. All you have to do is have your group watch the previous Sunday’s message and then follow the discussion questions provided. A pastor will be recapping the message every Monday on Facebook live, so watching that will also help you be prepared for group that week!

Other discussion topic resources for your group are the SOAP Bible plans or Right Now Media.
