basics (5th graders)

BASICS is a class for kids leaving 5th grade, and their parents, to help guide the transition from Elementary to Middle School. BASICS is facilitated by Pastor Isaac (Evangel Youth) and Pastor Kyle (eKids). Each week, parents and their kids will be equipped to discuss three important topics that come up in Middle School: influences, sex, and identity. A parent is expected to attend each session.

Wednesday, April 27 | 4:30 – 6:00 PM
Wednesday, May 4 | 4:30 – 6:00 PM
Wednesday, May 11 | 4:30 – 6:00 PM
Wednesday, May 18 | 4:30 – 6:00 PM

Basics was created as a launching point for parents to engage their son or daughter in conversations surrounding influences, sex, and identity. Our goal is to equip and empower parents to raise their children into Godly men and women. We want to establish our kids as fully-devoted followers of Christ by instilling unshakable faith in their hearts and in their homes.

Each week parents will be given resources to start meaningful conversations that will help them disciple and shape the faith of their kids. At the same time, kids will have the opportunity to see how their faith shapes their worldview and relates to what they will experience in middle school. Kids and parents will get to meet Pastor Isaac Sevlie, Evangel’s Youth Pastor in preparation for the transition to Youth at Evangel.
