Jesus - Hope for the Voiceless
Psalm 145:17-19 (NIV)
17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. 18 The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. 19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them
John 5; 13-14 (NIV)
13 The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”
Do you ever feel like no matter what you say or who you talk to, you aren't really being heard? Or do you sometimes get so overwhelmed by all the voices around you that your words get lost in the noise, if you even work up the courage to speak? As young adults, we are constantly bombarded with voices telling us what degree to pursue, where to live, what job to take, and what we should be involved in. When the noise becomes too much, we basically have two options. We can sit back and do nothing because we don't know who or what to listen to, or we can cry out to to the One who is always listening and wants to give us a voice in the world. In whatever situations we face, we have a voice, through prayer, that is heard by the only One who has the remedy for every problem and situation. In Christ, you have a voice. Are you willing to speak up?
