Jesus - Hope for the Future

Mark 11: 22-23
22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

If you’ve been to the UG then you’ve probably heard us say, ‘The Best is Yet to Come.’ This is something we say a lot as a church, and it is true for every one of us. The saying fills us with faith, hope, and trust in God that whatever we’ve done, wherever we’ve been, no matter what we’re going through, the future holds something greater for our lives. In life we all get stuck somewhere, whether it’s obstacles to overcome or issues that seem to hold us back.

Knowing that the best is yet to come fills us with vision for the future; to have robust faith for something more and to trust in God with all that we have. I grew up always having dreams of what I wanted to do when I was older. One year it was a soccer player, and the next a fireman. Although none of these dreams came to fruition, I now see that God had and still has my best interest in His hands. That’s where we come back to the verse in Mark 11:22 where Jesus says, “Have faith in God.” As we place our trust in Jesus He begins to work out the very best for us. We may not know whats going to happen in life, but we trust in God knowing that the best is yet to come.
