Jesus - Hope for the Fatherless

Galatians 4:3-7 (NIV)

3 So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces of the world. 4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out,  Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.

Have you ever felt lonely or wanted family? Well there is good news. Jesus is the hope for adoption into christ’s family. In Galatians 4: 3-7 it say through Jesus, we are set free from slavery and adopted into Christ’s family. We are sent the spirit of God’s son into our hearts because we are his children. The spirit who calls out “Abba,” father. All this is possible because Christ was born of a virgin woman and born under the law and then led a sinless life and died for us on the cross.

Jesus is the hope of adoption because he provides a family for you. I have experienced this multiple times in my life. One time was in college, the group of people that made up Cru on the campus was my family in Christ and it made a big difference in my life. But when I went back home after college it wasn’t the same without them and I struggled more even though I was with relatives. Though eventually I moved away from home and I found that same type of family at the UG.  Jesus is waiting for you to come to him to be adopted into his family if you haven’t been already. So take the next step towards Christ, you won't regret it!
