This is message 1 in our "Long Live Life" series at the Element. It's all about those who went before us and lived their lives apologetically for Christ. They stood strong in the face of the greatest trials and acknowledged that their lives tell a story louder than any words that could ever be spoken.

40 Roman soldiers chose to give up their lives so that they could go public with their faith in Jesus. As a result, they were sentenced to death by standing exposed on a frozen lake in a bitter snowstorm. Their only hope of survival was to renounce Christ and come off the ice. Because they chose to stand strong, their example was a catalyst for the conversion of the entire Roman empire to Christianity. Their story commands us to not come off of the ice and to stand strong in the face of trial.
