Good Friday and Easter
From: Friday, April 14, 4:00 PM
To: Sunday, April 16, 1:00 PM
At the very beginning of creation, God spoke, “Let there be light,” and for the first time, light appeared. Thousands of years later He sent a different light into the world, His son, Jesus. This was the kind of light that could free us not only from the darkness around us, but the darkness within us. Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection from the grave offered us the opportunity to have our hearts filled with light by simply accepting what Jesus did for us. Now, God is saying again, “Let there be light!” as he calls us to share the light we’ve been given with those around us.
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:14-16
