Whether you’re new to Evangel or are considering a visit in the future, we’d like to help you get to know us, find your way around and, most importantly, help you grow your relationship with Jesus Christ.
WHO WE ARE
We like to think of ourselves as a huge family. We meet every week to worship Jesus, reconnect with each other over coffee, and enjoy life together. We're here to celebrate the victories and hold each other up in the struggles. We believe a real relationship with Jesus Christ is best lived out in community.
BE OUR GUEST
We know coming to church or trying to pick a church to attend can be a stressful process. We would love for you to be our guest this Sunday morning. We can promise you this, if you decide to visit us, we won't harass you with phone calls or show up at your front door. Still have questions? Give us a call or send us an email!
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.
Salvation is God's gift to you if you'll accept it. We can never make up for our sin with self-improvement or good works. It is only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness that you can be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal life begins the moment you receive Jesus Christ into your life by faith.
The Bible is God's Word to all men. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the ultimate source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.
Humanity is made in the image of God. Although God designed us to have fellowship with Him, we became alienated from God through disobedience. As a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and choose to sin against God. We are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through our own efforts.
You were created to exist forever. We believe that forever is spent in one of two places: eternally separated from God because of sin or in union with God because of His forgiveness and salvation. When you die, you will either spend eternity in heaven or hell. Eternal separation from God happens in hell. Eternal union with God occurs in heaven.
THE POWER OF GOD
In relationship with Jesus, we are not only saved from our sins and transformed by his work in our lives. We also become carriers of his power that works in us and through us.
The church is the body of believers who gather together for worship, encouragement, support and mission.
